To do that a person will need to obtain a license from the Hawaii State Department of Agriculture. The department will perform routine sampling and various testing on the corps, 30 days before the extraction. These tests will be about potency tests for THC and pesticide screening.


The licenses get issues on a quarterly basis, but the acceptance of the application happens all year. But the department would provide the license only four times a year (March, June, September, and December). If the application gets rejected, then the department will notify the farmers if the license is approved, then the person will receive the application letter with the license agreement.




Recreational marijuana is still illegal in Hawaii. Possession of the drug less than an ounce would get you 30 days in jail with a fine of $1000. If the possession amount reaches more than an ounce, then it will get you $2000 in fine, posing less than 1ml cannabis is considered as a felony, and you will end up paying $5000 and up to 3 years behind bars. It is still illegal to add CBD to food, beverages, and cosmetics.but if the person is qualified under the law, then they can receive an appropriate number of CBD for their uses by getting a medical marijuana card. The card would allow the purchase of the medical cannabis products that contain CBD and THC.


But the state is much more focused on educating people about the CBD laws than the punishment aspect of the CBD.
