While both oils come from the Cannabis sativa plant, only CBD can be derived from other varieties of the cannabis plant family (primarily Cannabis indica). And just because they come from the same plant doesn’t mean they are sourced the same way.

CBD oil is extracted from the flowers, leaves, and stalks of hemp plants since these are the regions of the plant with high concentrations of CBD. According to federal regulations, CBD oil can legally contain up to 0.3% THC, but some states still have restrictions against purchasing CBD products. CBD oil is usually combined with a base oil (MCT, coconut, olive oil, etc.).

On the other hand, hemp oil is cold-pressed from the seeds of the hemp plant and contains no THC at all. However, it does have a high concentration of fatty acids and other nutrients. Does Hemp Oil Make You Sleepy?

This question requires a bit of unpacking!

Earlier, we discussed the fact that hemp oil is free of THC. Therefore, hemp oil does not contain any psychoactive properties, which are typically the perpetrators causing sleepiness or drowsiness. Since hemp oil has no psychoactive properties, it does not make you sleepy.

But wait, that’s not all!
